As a Communications Manager for London Inner City Kitties, my responsibilities are to be owning communications across the board and ensuring the highest service is provided. This includes responding to emails, messages and comments in a timely, professional and clear manner as well as maintaining FAQs.
I also aid in writing and editing copy for cat bios and posting to social media channels to help them find a forever home, and support the teams if needed with social media content to promote kitties that might be harder to rehome or raise funds.
Alongside this, I also write a lot of the blogs. This usually involves both pitching my own ideas for topics as well as collaborating with members of the wider team at L.I.CK, to see what topics are of high priority and need communicating to our audience.
I do all of my own research and create all of the graphics seen in my posts.
Kitty Insurance Blog
As a cat rescue charity that has several people either wanting to adopt or foster cats, we needed to express the importance of having a good pet insurance.
Having a good insurance policy for your cat can ultimately come down to saving your cat’s life. We often see many people having to make very difficult decisions, such as surrendering their cats or even putting them to sleep because they weren’t able to cover the costs of the treatment their cats desperately needed.
The Insurance blog covers all types of pet insurance that you can take out for your cat. It shows clear comparatives of each option, depending on the age of the cat and the cat's specific needs.

How Much Does It Cost To Have A Cat?
Since we have people coming to us looking to adopt cats, we needed to be able to softly communicate that owning a cat is a lifelong commitment and may not always be easy, with unexpected and costly bills being something that many pet owners struggle with.
The overall cost of having a cat can of course differ depending on various factors, such as the cat's age, health and their personal needs. To make things a bit easier for individuals thinking about adopting a cat, I put together a breakdown of the typical costs that come with owning a cat.

The blog covers everything from being conscious of  sustainability with physical items such as cat carriers and furniture, to minimum and maximum costs of various expenses that every cat will need covered during their lifetime, such as flea and worming treatments, general check-ups, insurance and vaccinations etc.

Safeguarding Your Cat's Future
As a cat rescue charity, we often see kitties needing to be rehomed due to the passing of their owners. We wanted to bring light to this situation, and get owners to think about what would happen to their cats if something were to happen to them.

Sometimes being a responsible pet parent will mean having to think about the future of a pet's life - especially if it is likely that they will outlive you. I needed to get people to think about would happen to their furry friends, if something happened to them; If they were to become sick, required emergency hospitalisation or needed to move into a nursing home. The aim was to get them to think about putting a plan in place, and giving them clear information and resources that would aid them in beginning the process.

Why Collars Can Be Dangerous For Cats
There are several reasons that as owners, we might want to put collars on our cats. From identification purposes, making sure that they don’t go missing, or helping to protect the local wildlife or just because they can look nice, however, a collar isn’t always the best option for your cat as they can be a choking risk. Even collars that have safety releases can fail or may not function in all situations, and there are little regulations for safety measures in pet products.

To warn cat owners about the risks of collars, I put together a blog with lots of information and alternatives to collars.
